Common placement mistakes we see around the Capital Region (and how to avoid them):

1) Too high or too low
Place signage where drivers and pedestrians naturally scan: eye level for walk-ins, clear sightline for traffic.

2) Blocked by poles, trees, or parked cars
Check real-world obstructions at different times of day. A “perfect” spot on paper can disappear at 5pm.

3) Hard to read at speed
Bigger letters, fewer words, strong contrast. If it can’t be read in 3–5 seconds, it’s not doing its job.

4) Poor lighting / nighttime invisibility
If you’re open past dusk, plan for illumination (or reflective materials) from the start.

5) Skipping permits & landlord rules
Local requirements vary by town. Get it right before fabrication to avoid costly rework.
